First view: American jazz in urban sound. Electric piano and fretless bass form the framework for sonic experiments. The trumpet is played classically with the WahWah damper or as in the electric times of Miles Davis with the WahWah guitar effect, throwing small comments into the gradually evolving sound worlds. What should we think about America? Chaos, disillusionment, shake your head? How should a country still claim supremacy in jazz when "America first" should been interpreted as Brexit (London second?) as a statement against the universal power of music? Did only the non-musicians make this decision? Are the musicians in these countries now opposition? Isolation? Any change is an opportunity. The European jazz can redefine, reinterpret the American models. American dreams is a european jazz album, the lost of american dreams is part of a new direction. All the american jazz heroes do political albums now, so it is time to mirror this with an european statement.


Erster Blick: Amerikanischer Jazz im urbanen Sound. E-Piano und Fretless Bass bilden den Rahmen für akustische Experimente. Die Trompete wird klassisch mit dem WahWah-Dämpfer oder wie in den elektrischen Zeiten von Miles Davis mit dem WahWah-Gitarreneffekt gespielt und wirft kleine Kommentare in die sich allmählich entwickelnden Klangwelten. Was sollten wir über Amerika denken? Chaos, Desillusionierung, Kopf schütteln? Wie sollte ein Land immer noch die Vorherrschaft im Jazz beanspruchen, wenn "America first" als Brexit (London second?) Als Aussage gegen die universelle Kraft der Musik interpretiert werden sollte? Haben nur die Nicht-Musiker diese Entscheidung getroffen? Sind die Musiker in diesen Ländern jetzt Opposition? Isolierung? Jede Änderung ist eine Chance. Der europäische Jazz kann die amerikanischen Modelle neu definieren und neu interpretieren. American Dreams ist ein europäisches Jazz-Album, der Verlust amerikanischer Träume ist Teil einer neuen Richtung. Alle amerikanischen Jazzhelden machen jetzt politische Alben, also ist es Zeit, dies mit einer europäischen Aussage zu spiegeln.

Comme une déclaration contre le pouvoir universel de la musique? Est-ce que seuls les non-musiciens ont pris cette décision? Les musiciens de ces pays sont-ils maintenant opposés? Isolement? Tout changement est une opportunité. Le jazz européen peut redéfinir, réinterpréter les modèles américains. American dreams est un album de jazz européen, la perte des rêves américains fait partie d'une nouvelle direction. Tous les héros du jazz américain font des albums politiques maintenant, il est donc temps de refléter cela avec une déclaration européenne.
