Inspiriert vom Film amnesia von Barbet Schroeder: Der 25-jährige Komponist Jo aus Berlin kommt Anfang der 90er Jahre auf die Insel Ibiza, wo er auf einen Job als DJ in einem der neuen, angesagten Nachtclubs hofft. Er lernt Martha kennen, die seit 40 Jahren zurückgezogen in ihrem Haus auf der Insel lebt. Auch sie liebt die Musik, und trotz aller Unterschiede werden die beiden langsam Freunde. Aber Martha hat ein Geheimnis - doch gerade das zieht Jo mehr und mehr an.
Am Ende bleiben ein paar Tage und die Erkenntnis, dass es viel Verbindendenes in der Gegenwart und viel Trennendes aus der Vergangenheit gibt - Vergessen macht glücklich.
Das Album gab es schon einmal, leider waren einige Bässe beim mastern zu stark, sodass es bei einigen Abhörsituationen digitale Artefakte gab. Statt nur neu zu mischen oder zu mastern, hat ctraltu gleich das ganze Album neu eingespielt und wesentlich verändert. Luftiger, akustischer und leichter sollte es sein. Alle Instrumente spielt ctraltu aka Thomas Steffen hier wieder selbst - Trompete, Bass, Schlagzeug, Piano, Synthesizer und Gitarren. Das Studio ist dabei der Raum der die Musik entstehen lässt. Aber was heißt Studio? Die reine Aufnahme-Ausrüstung hat gerade mal einen Wert von vielleicht 500 Dollar. Denn es wird wenig editiert bei ctraltu, deshlab auch die radikale Neuaufnahme des ganzen Albums. Shit in, shit out... und zur Not noch mal von vorne.

Inspired by the film amnesia by Barbet Schroeder: The 25-year-old composer Jo from Berlin came to the island of Ibiza in the early 1990s, hoping for a job as a DJ in one of the new, hip nightclubs. He meets Martha, who has been living in seclusion in her house on the island for 40 years. She also loves music, and despite their differences, the two slowly become friends. But Martha has a secret - but that's what attracts Jo more and more.
In the end there are a few days and the realization that there is a lot that connects us in the present and a lot that separates us from the past - forgetting makes you happy.
The album already existed, unfortunately some basses were too strong when mastering, so that there were digital artefacts in some listening situations. Instead of just remixing or mastering, ctraltu re-recorded the whole album and changed it significantly. It should be more airy, acoustic and lighter. Ctraltu aka Thomas Steffen plays all the instruments himself - trumpet, bass, drums, piano, synthesizer and guitars. The studio is the room where the music is created. But what does studio mean? The raw recording gear is worth maybe $500. Because there is little editing at ctraltu, hence the radical re-recording of the whole album. Shit in, shit out... and if necessary, start again.

Inspiré du film Amnesia de Barbet Schroeder : le compositeur berlinois Jo, âgé de 25 ans, est venu sur l'île d'Ibiza au début des années 1990, espérant trouver un emploi de DJ dans l'une des nouvelles boîtes de nuit branchées. Il rencontre Martha, qui vit recluse dans sa maison sur l'île depuis 40 ans. Elle aime aussi la musique, et malgré leurs différences, les deux deviennent peu à peu amis. Mais Martha a un secret - mais c'est ce qui attire de plus en plus Jo.
En fin de compte, il y a quelques jours et la réalisation qu'il y a beaucoup de choses qui nous relient dans le présent et beaucoup qui nous séparent du passé - l'oubli rend heureux.
L'album existait déjà, malheureusement certaines basses étaient trop fortes lors du mastering, de sorte qu'il y avait des artefacts numériques dans certaines situations d'écoute. Au lieu de simplement remixer ou masteriser, ctraltu a réenregistré tout l'album et l'a considérablement modifié. Il devrait être plus aéré, acoustique et plus léger. Ctraltu alias Thomas Steffen joue lui-même de tous les instruments - trompette, basse, batterie, piano, synthétiseur et guitares. Le studio est la pièce où la musique est créée. Mais que veut dire studio ? Le matériel d'enregistrement brut vaut peut-être 500 $. Car il y a peu de montage chez ctraltu, d'où le réenregistrement radical de tout l'album. Merde dedans, merde... et si nécessaire, recommencer.
